The Family Resources Survey (FRS) is a long running continuous survey of private households in the UK which collects robust and detailed information on:

  • household income
  • housing tenure
  • caring needs and responsibilities
  • disability
  • pension participation
  • savings and investment
  • self employment

Findings

The latest findings from the survey are available on the Department for Work and Pension's website.

Methodology

FRS is a continuous face to face survey which has been running since 1992.  Between April 2022 and March 2023, interviews were conducted with a representative sample of around 25,000 households from across the UK.

The FRS data are designated by the UK Statistics Authority as National Statistics.
