About the Family Resources Survey
The Family Resources Survey (FRS) is a long running continuous survey of private households in the UK which collects robust and detailed information on:
- household income
- housing tenure
- caring needs and responsibilities
- disability
- pension participation
- savings and investment
- self employment
- household food security
Findings
The latest findings from the survey are available on the Department for Work and Pension's website.
Methodology
FRS is a continuous face to face survey which has been running since 1992. Between April 2023 and March 2024, interviews were conducted with a representative sample of just under 17,000 households across the UK.
The FRS data are designated by the UK Statistics Authority as National Statistics.
