Podcast Series: Climate & Gender Voice
The Climate & Gender Voice podcast series consists of seven episodes broadcast on the dedicated platform, covering topics such as The Pain After Floods, Three Urgent Health Issues in Disasters, Reproductive Health in Crisis, and Healing Psychological Wounds After Disasters. The series was developed by the Centre for Community Health and Population Initiatives (CCIHP) and the Centre for Environmental and Community Research (CECR), with expert guidance and participation from several stakeholders including the LIGHT Institute (our Wellcome project partner). Each episode attracted between 5,000 and 7,000 views on YouTube and partner media channels.
The series highlights often-overlooked physical and mental health impacts experienced by women, children, and community responders during and after extreme weather events.
Key Message: The Climate & Gender Voice channel was established to communicate, educate, and advocate for a supportive policy and social environment regarding climate change and gender equality. It highlights the need for research-informed policies that address both climate risks and gender disparities.
