National Podcast: “How Climate Change and Natural Disasters Affect Women and Girls”

The project Co-I Dr Giang Nguyen, Director of the LIGHT Insitute, our project local partner, was featured in the national podcast titled above. This podcast was produced as part of the CAM podcast series in observance of Vietnam’s Month of Action for Gender Equality 2024, organised by the Vietnam Women’s Union. It was broadcast on the official channels of the Vietnam Women’s Union, UN Women, and UNFPA, reaching over 24,000 views during the December 2024 campaign.

Key Message: Climate change and natural disasters exert significant impacts on women and children. Support and intervention programmes must account for both immediate and long-term effects on mental health, wellbeing, and livelihoods, particularly among vulnerable populations.
