On the 12th of June, weeks before the 2024 General Election, we published the results of the latest British Social Attitudes survey. The report analysed whether the contours of public opinion had been fundamentally reshaped and considered the implications.

Britain has experienced unprecedented levels of change and disruption since the last General Election in 2019. The UK had withdrawn from the European Union, suffered a global pandemic, witnessed the outbreak of the Russia-Ukraine war, endured the highest level of inflation since the 1970s, lost its longest-ever reigning monarch, and been led by three different Prime Ministers.

In our latest episode of 'Society Behind the Stats', Sierra sits down with guests Natalie Maplethorpe and Elizabeth Clery, to explore the past five years and the impact of the 2019 to 2024 parliament on public opinions.
