Ian Montagu
Ian Montagu has worked in social research for 9 years, including 5 years at the National Centre for Social Research.
Previously, he was lead Researcher on ScotCen’s Scottish Social Attitudes survey and Ian is now responsible for the day-to-day administration of both NatCen’s British Social Attitudes survey and projects on the NatCen Panel. He is involved at each stage of the research process including questionnaire design and testing, analysis, and reporting and dissemination. Ian has also played a key role in NatCen’s What Scotland Thinks and What UK Thinks projects, working alongside academic colleagues to track public opinion towards Scottish independence and Brexit as part of NatCen’s ESRC-funded UK in a Changing Europe fellowship.
Ian holds a BA in Jurisprudence from the University of Oxford and an MA in Research Methodology from the University of Liverpool, and is currently completing a PhD in Social Policy and Politics at the University of Strathclyde.
