National Centre for Social Research appoints Maisie Anderson-Davis as Director of External Engagement
The National Centre for Social Research (NatCen) has appointed Maisie Anderson‑Davis as Director of External Engagement, a newly created senior role focused on amplifying the organisation’s national evidence and policy impact.
Maisie brings extensive experience in public affairs, policy, and strategic communications across the UK and internationally. She has held senior roles in consultancy, politics, and the non‑profit sector, most recently as a Managing Director at a global advisory firm, where she led high‑profile communications and public affairs programmes. She has also served as a Cabinet Member in local government, giving her direct experience of policy development and public accountability.
In her new role, Maisie will lead NatCen’s external engagement and influence agenda, bringing together public affairs, communications, digital engagement, and partnerships into a single strategic function. Her focus will be on ensuring NatCen’s own research informs public debate, shapes policy, and reinforces the organisation’s position as a trusted, independent voice in social research.
Michael Davis, Chief Executive of NatCen, said:
“Maisie brings outstanding strategic, political, and communications expertise. Her experience at the intersection of research, policy, and public debate makes her exceptionally well placed to help amplify our evidence and insights.”
Maisie Anderson-Davis said:
“I’m so excited to be joining the NatCen team at a time when delivering rigorous social research feels more important than ever. Throughout my career in politics, public affairs, and communications - working across Britain and the United States - I’ve seen the value and power of independent insight. I look forward to working alongside NatCen’s array of experts to bring their research to even bigger and broader audiences - shaping public debate, enhancing understanding, and deepening impact.”
