Evaluation of Transport Safety Officers Pilot
About the study
Transport Safety Officers (TSOs) are a new role, introduced by the Department for Transport (DfT) throughout the UK. This research aims to find out about how aware members of the public are of the role of TSOs, and whether they are having a positive impact on users of public transport.
Why take part and what will it involve?
Taking part in this study will help DfT understand how to keep people safe on public transport, especially women and girls. You will participate in either a focus group or an interview with NatCen Researchers, taking place in February or March 2025.
Why have I been selected to take part?
You have been asked to take part because you use the bus or rail services in the areas where TSOs are operating. You indicated that you would be willing to take part in further research when you completed a travel survey carried out by our research partners, Plus Four.
Who is carrying out the research?
DfT has asked the National Centre for Social Research, an independent research organisation, to carry out this research.
