Support to Succeed Evaluation: Privacy notice
What is the evaluation about?
This privacy notice sets out how your information will be used for the evaluation of the Support to Succeed programme commissioned by the Centre for Ageing Better.
As part of this evaluation, the National Centre for Social Research (NatCen), an independent social research organisation, will carry out interviews with participants on the programme.
What is the legal basis for processing my data?
For the purpose of data protection legislation, the Centre for Ageing Better are the data controllers and NatCen are the data processers. This means the Centre for Ageing Better is responsible for deciding the purpose and legal basis for processing data from this study. For this study, the legal basis for processing data is ‘Public Task’.
Who will have access to my personal data?
NatCen will receive participant contact details, including name, telephone number and email address from the company delivering the programme via a secure transfer service.
The research team at NatCen will have access to these contact details, audio recordings and transcripts. The NatCen research team will record the discussions and McGowan Transcriptions will transcribe them. They are on NatCen’s approved supplier list and are compliant with all of NatCen’s information security policies. Only the NatCen research team and McGowan Transcriptions will have access to the recordings.
If consent is given, NatCen will have access to participants named data related to their participation in the programme including: demographic data (including age, gender, ethnicity, education, disability status, benefits received); support needs you had coming into the programme; support you’ve accessed and related outcomes; documents related to your programme participation (including action plan, notes made by your key worker, feedback on interventions). This will be stored securely.
How NatCen will use your information
Data will only be used for research purposes. NatCen will write up the findings in a report for the Centre for Ageing Better and the Greater Manchester Combined Authority in a way that protects your anonymity as far as possible.
The report may include quotes of what you have said or example case studies based on the experience of you and other participants. The quotes will be labelled anonymously and case studies will draw from multiple participants’ experiences to protect your anonymity as far as possible. There is a chance that your keyworker and other staff from the Growth Company may be able to identify you from the report.
NatCen will not attribute views to you personally but report the overall views of all the people that participated. NatCen will also not tell anyone else what you have personally said, nor will NatCen include any names or personal details in the report. The findings of the research will be published externally. All personal information will be securely deleted at the end of the project.
You can withdraw from the study at any time prior to analysis of interviews by May 31st. If you wish to do so, please contact the NatCen research team on the study email address or freephone number provided below.
