The implementation of Low Traffic Neighbourhoods (LTNs) by local councils has become a keenly debated issue. At this webinar, we will explore our report findings and share the recommendations coming out of our research.
The government’s Net Zero Strategy and the COP26 climate conference have propelled climate change and air pollution up the nation’s political agenda.
At a more local level, the implementation of Low Traffic Neighbourhoods (LTNs) by local councils has become a keenly debated issue. The National Centre for Social Research (NatCen)’s Centre for Deliberative Research was commissioned by the European Climate Foundation (ECF) to conduct online workshops with members of the public to understand their views of LTNs and the impact felt in their local community.
This study focused on exploring residents’ experiences following the introduction of LTN schemes; to hear the perspective of different groups living, working in or near LTNs and produce clear recommendations for the implementation of future LTNs and similar schemes. At this event, we will explore these findings and share the recommendations coming out of this research.
