Rethinking Liberal Peace through Southern Eyes writing workshops

The recent debate on decolonisation of securitisation theories has demonstrated the need to write differently on peace and security. The aim of these workshops is to support the decolonisation of the field of liberal peace by encouraging southern early career researchers to challenge existing theories via an engagement with alternative perspectives.

The workshops will achieve this by supporting a different approach to the academic writing process, looking at strategies to ‘decolonise writing’. The second part of the workshop will be dedicated to grant applications with a focus on methodology and ethics. The workshops will be focused on three research themes: governance, rule of law and human rights. The workshops will take place in English, Arabic and Persian to ensure a wide representation of scholars.

Funded by the British Academy, this is a collaboration with NatCen International, Cranfield University and Addis Ababa University.
