Sam Beardsworth

Sam is a Senior Data Scientist in the Analysis team at NatCen. He is a pragmatic data professional who leads initiatives in using innovative technological approaches to improve research and better inform policy. His areas of interest include consumerism, housing, citizenship, the informal economy, market regulation, and voter behaviour.

Prior to NatCen, Sam was the data lead for the Research and Insights team at the British Standards Institution (BSI). He later moved to an innovation-focused role with responsibility for delivering data science proofs-of-concept across the organization.

Outside of his professional roles, Sam has contributed to research studies exploring the experiences of young adults with cancer, and has been a co-author on two papers in this area. He has an MSc in Social Research from Birkbeck, University of London.
