Reema Patel
Reema is an experienced social researcher and former research director in the Qualitative Research and Engagement Centre at Ipsos, and she specialises in participatory and deliberative public engagement (especially in international contexts). She directed the Global Science Partnership for inclusive climate action, and developed the inclusive policymaking toolkit for application in diverse contexts. She is a stakeholder panel member of the EU consortium INSPIRE, exploring intersectionality and deliberative democracy. She is also a member of the OECD's Innovative Citizen Participation Network. Reema has experience in supporting new initiatives to grow and thrive - Reema co-founded the Ada Lovelace Institute where she helped build a team of more than 20 people over a period of four years and established the organisation’s public engagement practice, she is a founding member of the Digital Good Network, and has served as a local councillor for 8 years, where she was a founding trustee of a community run library.
Reema regularly advises organisations on their approach to public engagement, particularly as it relates to understanding lived experience and its impact on underrepresented communities.
