Kate Wadsworth

Kate joined NatCen as a Researcher in the Centre for Children and Families in December 2023. She is currently involved in a range of projects including the National Evaluation of A Better Start, Module 3 and 4 of the COVID-19 Inquiry, the Focus for Teacher Assessment in Primary Science (Focus4TAPS) evaluation, the North East Maths Project, and the Education and Outcomes Panel Study Panel B (EOPS-B). 

During her time at the University of St Andrews studying Geography and International Relations, Kate specialised in socioeconomic and environmental policies and topics such as climate change, human rights, child labour, and globalisation. Her dissertation aimed to explore how volunteers and staff at nature-based solutions organisations work with plants to solve environmental problems. Her academic and current interests cover socioeconomic issues and inequality, educational and developmental outcomes for children, and various social policy research, which she continues to explore in her ongoing work.
