Anjhana Damodaran
Anjhana is a Senior Researcher in the Centre for Evaluation with a keen interest in utilising program evaluations to contribute to positive social change and improve lives. Her role at the National Centre for Social Research (NatCen) spans from designing and implementing randomised control trials and quasi-experimental designs, including regression discontinuity designs, propensity score approaches, and difference-in-differences. Her interest areas include education, disadvantage (intersectionality-informed), and migration (labour migration and racial discrimination).
Prior to joining NatCen, Anjhana worked in the UK Civil Service (Ofsted) conducting evaluations in education (early years, schools, and further education & skills). She has gained research and evaluation experiences in diverse settings including universities, think tanks, and research institutes in Singapore and in the UK. Her background exposed her to impact, process, theory-based and mixed methods evaluations. She holds an MSc in International Social and Public Policy (specialist Research stream) from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), where she delved deeper into advanced statistics, regression, and causal inference.
