Research into Group Victim Support Interventions

NatCen is conducting independent research into group-based victim support interventions, by the Ministry of Justice (MoJ).

This page provides information about the research and what we would like to find out.

About the study

The National Centre for Social Research (NatCen) and WPI Economics are carrying out independent research into group-based victim support interventions in the UK. The aim of this research is to develop a clearer understanding of where and what type of victim support is being commissioned and delivered, with particular focus on group-based victim support interventions.

The research will explore where there is strong evidence regarding group-based victim support interventions, where evidence is missing or weak, and to suggest practical ways to improve future research based on the specific context.

We want to hear about group-based victim support interventions from a broad range of perspectives. This includes stakeholders with different levels of involvement in victim support, such as Police and Crime Commissioners and victim support service providers. Gathering insights from a wide range of groups will help us and the MoJ to bring together the available evidence and make decisions that are fair and grounded in facts.

What will taking part involve?

Who is carrying out the research?

This study is being conducted by the National Centre for Social Research (NatCen), Britain’s largest independent social research agency. We have been asked to carry out this research by the Ministry of Justice.
