Survey Futures - The First Survey Practice Forum
Social survey data collection in the UK faces currently some severe challenges, but has also been presented with some new opportunities. Recognising these challenges, the ESRC has commissioned the Survey Data Collection Methods Collaboration, to be known as Survey Futures, to carry out a three-year programme of research and capacity-building activities with a view to ensuring that it will remain possible to carry out high quality social surveys of the kinds required by the public and academic sectors.
Survey Futures is holding the first of a series of Survey Practice Forum events on 29 June 2023. At this event, the objectives and initial workplan will be explained and there will be an opportunity for stakeholders to contribute to identifying the most pressing needs and helping to shape the work of Survey Futures.
All are welcome, but we particularly encourage the participation of survey commissioners, survey methodologists, survey managers, survey designers and survey data users.
The Survey Data Collection Methods Collaboration is made up of:
- Director and Principal Investigator: Professor Peter Lynn (University of Essex)
- Deputy Director and Co-Investigator: Dr Olga Maslovskaya (University of Southampton)
