Reporting crime and antisocial behaviour 
If you would like to report an incident to the British Transport Police (BTP), please use the following methods: 

  • Text 61016: This is a 24/7 monitored service for reporting non-emergency crimes or safety concerns discreetly.
  • Call 0800 40 50 40: Use this freephone number to speak with a dispatcher directly.

If you experience an emergency on transport, please take the following steps:

  • Call 999: Dial 999 immediately if a crime is in progress, someone is in danger, or the suspect is still nearby.
  • Station Resources: Use emergency handles on trains, help points on station platforms, or speak to any member of rail staff or a police officer.
