Karen Hargrave
Karen is an independent researcher and policy analyst with ten years of experience working in the international humanitarian, human rights and development sectors, the majority of which has focused on mobility and displacement. Recent projects have focused on public attitudes and narratives towards refugees and migrants, the humanitarian response to the war in Ukraine, and connections between climate change and mobility. Clients include ODI, the Red Cross and Red Crescent, IOM and the Mayor’s Migration Council. Prior to consulting Karen led British Red Cross’ research, policy and advocacy work on migration and displacement. She has also worked as a researcher for the Humanitarian Policy Group at ODI and with civil society organisations along the Thai-Myanmar border.
