Newly Built Homes
About the study
The National Centre for Social Research have been commissioned by Homes England to conduct this research to better understand residents’ perceptions and satisfaction of their newly built homes.
This is an online survey looking at homes built in the last 5 years in England. We want to hear about how satisfied you are with your home, and your perception of the thermal comfort, air quality, acoustics, maintenance and durability of your home since you have moved in.
How can I take part?
We have invited households from across the UK to take part in the survey. The survey can be completed by going to survey.natcen.ac.uk/newbuilds and entering your unique access code or scanning the QR code you received in your invitation letter.
Unfortunately, if you have not received a letter you will be unable to participate.
Why take part and what will it involve?
To participate, simply complete our short survey and in return we will send you a high street voucher to say thank you. The questions are about you and your experiences in your newly built home and will take around 15 minutes to complete.
We are interested in hearing from the person in your household who is 18 or over, responsible for paying bills, and was involved in the decision making when choosing your current home.
If you have been invited to take part, full instructions on how to start the survey can be found on the letter you will have received in the post.
Why have I been selected to take part?
Your home has been selected to represent a certain type and age of house in your area.
By taking part, you will ensure that homes like yours are represented and enable the government to make more informed decisions around the future of housing.
See the study privacy notice for more information on how we obtained your contact details.
What will I receive for taking part?
As a thank you, we will send a £10 Love2Shop voucher to your household if you take part. To redeem your voucher please follow the instructions in the email you will have received from us after you have completed the survey.
If you have any queries about your voucher, please call 0800 783 5890 or email newbuilds@natcen.ac.uk.
