Frequently asked questions
Find out the answers to common questions about the study.
Who will be interviewed?
We would like to interview local authority staff involved in managing and allocating DHPs. We have contacted a list of local authorities in England and Wales provided by DWP.
Unfortunately, we cannot include all local authorities who expressed an interest in an interview.
If you have not heard from us by Friday 22nd December 2018, this means you have not been chosen to take part in the study.
How long will the interview last?
The interview will take around 30 minutes to complete. It will take place over the telephone at a time that is convenient for you. Taking part is entirely voluntary.
Who is carrying out the research?
The research is being conducted by NatCen Social Research, Britain’s largest independent social research agency. For the last 40 years we’ve been working with charities, non-profits and government to uncover the truth about the big issues and promote evidence-based policy. NatCen are entirely independent of all government departments including DWP.
How will you treat the information I give?
If you decide to take part, your details and anything you tell us will be stored securely and treated in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998. Your information will only be used for this study. Personal details will not be quoted in any research findings. With your permission local authorities will be identified in data delivered to DWP.
Any information you provide will be held in the strictest of confidence and will be handled securely throughout the study. The research findings will not identify you or your organisation and no personal information will be shared with DWP or any third parties. If you do not want to take part, please contact NatCen on 0800 652 0601.
