NHS Test and Trace App Survey

We recently conducted a survey asking about the NHS COVID-19 app which was trialled on the Isle of Wight. Based on the feedback from the survey the app has been re-designed and improved and we now need your help to evaluate the changes. This is your chance to share your experience and help beat the spread of COVID-19. We would like to hear from you whether you have used the app or not. The research is being carried out by the National Centre for Social Research (NatCen) on behalf of the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC).

Taking part is easy

Taking part involves completing a short online survey at a time that suits you using the link provided in your invitation email. This will take a maximum of 15 minutes to complete.

What is the survey about?

This short survey will help us evaluate the changes to the Test and Trace App that have been implemented following feedback from NHS COVID-19 app survey that was trialled on the Isle of Wight.

I haven’t used the app. Should I still complete the survey?

Yes. We want to hear from as many people who completed the previous survey as possible. That includes people who have used the app and people who have not used the app. We want to hear from people who use a smartphone and people who do not.

Do I have to answer all the questions?

Don’t worry – you don’t have to answer any questions you don’t want to, you can just skip on to the next one.

We guard your privacy

We will treat the information you give us in the strictest confidence under the EU General Data Protection Regulation. The results collected will be used for research purposes only. Your personal information will be stored securely and no one but the research team at NatCen will be able to access it. At the end of the research, all data will be anonymised before being passed on to DHSC and your personal information will be securely deleted.

You can see our privacy notice here.

Why have I been selected to take part?

You have been invited to take part because you took part in the previous NHS COVID-19 Test and Trace app survey trialled on the Isle of Wight and agreed to be contacted for future research. You can decide to opt-out at any time.

Where can I find out more?

For anything not covered on here, please call us free on 0800 652 0201 or email AppSurvey@natcen.ac.uk. One of our staff will get back to you to answer your query as soon as possible.

Who is carrying out this survey?

The Department for Health and Social Care has commissioned The National Centre for Social Research (NatCen) to carry out the study on their behalf. NatCen is Britain’s largest independent social research agency. For nearly 50 years it has worked with charities and government to find out what people really think about the big issues. NatCen is independent of all government departments and political parties.
