Ellen Broomé joins the National Centre for Social Research as Director of Children and Families

London, UK - The National Centre for Social Research (NatCen) has appointed Ellen Broomé as its Director of Children and Families. Ellen joined NatCen on 25 November 2019.
Before joining NatCen, Ellen was Chief Executive at Coram Family and Childcare, having initially served there as Director of Programmes and External Affairs. She brings over ten years of experience in service delivery, policy, communications and public affairs, including positions at The Children’s Society, The National Autistic Society, Hill & Knowlton and in Parliament. Ellen has also served as a School Governor and a Trustee.
Commenting on her appointment, NatCen’s Chief Executive Guy Goodwin said: “We have exciting plans to launch a Centre for Children and Families next year. Ellen’s arrival is a first step towards us making a wider contribution to the understanding of key contemporary issues for children and families. We are delighted to have attracted someone of Ellen’s calibre and policy and public affairs expertise to lead this important part of NatCen’s work.”
Ellen Broomé said: “NatCen has a track record of world class research in this field. At a time of significant challenges for children and families, I am delighted to be leading the Centre to increase its impact and reach, and support policy makers and practitioners by identifying evidence-based interventions that improve children’s outcomes.”
