Graphic Designer

Location: London (with office-based and flexible working options available including working from home during the pandemic)

Salary: £22k – £30k (depending on skills and experience)

At the National Centre for Social Research (NatCen), we produce some of the most exciting, challenging, and rigorous independent research out there and we’re looking for a Graphic Designer to help bring it to life for us and our customers. Working and developing alongside our experienced Design Manager, you will help build our profile and increase awareness of the great research we do by engaging with a variety of different people across NatCen, as well as our valued clients.

You will work with our Marketing and Communications team to further enhance our communications, our business development capability to help produce highly visual proposals, and liaise with our teams of researchers to help turn their data into great visual content and engaging materials.

We're looking for someone with previous experience of graphic design, keen to develop their skills in a challenging but rewarding environment. The work involves creating and updating artwork, from laying out of survey letters and questionnaires, to producing infographics and data visualisations. Proven experience of using Adobe InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop is essential.

You'll be educated to degree level or equivalent or be able to demonstrate relevant experience in previous roles. You’ll be used to working to creative briefs and within brand guidelines to deliver high quality work to deadline with a meticulous attention to detail. Ability to prioritise, work on repetitive tasks and manage multiple deadlines is essential. The work involved will be varied and will include:

  • Preparing print ready documents
  • Producing branded materials, liaising with print providers and assisting with reviewing proofs for visual quality
  • Designing online graphics to brief and within the organisation’s brand guidelines for web and social media
