Children and Families

Helena is a new Researcher in the Children & Families team. She is a mixed-methods researcher interested in education and early years policy and topics of disadvantage, inequality and social mobility in the education system.

Formerly a Research Fellow at the Institute for Employment Studies, Helena has three years’ experience in research and evaluation for clients such as the Department for Education, the Education Endowment Foundation and the Careers & Enterprise Company.

She has experience across qualitative research methods (interviews, focus groups and case study research), qualitative analysis and report writing, and survey design and analysis. Helena is particularly interested in designing and conducting evaluations of educational interventions in schools and early years settings, and has extensive experience of data collection with teachers, early years practitioners and young people.
