User experience interviews
About the interview
We are looking for people who work in childcare settings in London to help us test some questions which are asked on the web version of the Survey of Childcare and Early Years Providers.
Why take part?
The Survey of Childcare and Early Years is an important annual survey that is used by the Department for Education in a variety of ways. By taking part in a user experience interview you will help us make sure the survey works well online. The aim is to make the survey as easy as possible for all the childcare providers who will take part in the future.
What will I receive for taking part?
Everyone who takes part will receive a £30 book token for their setting.
An interviewer will visit you at your place of work, or another place of your choosing, to carry out the interview. The interview will last for about 45 minutes. We will show you some of the web questions and ask you what you think of them. Interviews are being conducted throughout January 2020 and we can offer appointment times to suit your needs.
What will you ask me about?
The main thing we are interested in findings out is how to make the web interface as user-friendly as possible. The web questionnaire will contain questions on a range of topics including; the number of children in your provision, the number of paid staff who work with you, staff qualifications and staff to child ratios. A preparation sheet will be sent to you in advance of the interview to allow you to look information up if you wish.
Do I have to answer all the questions?
You don’t have to answer any questions you don’t want to, we can just skip on to the next one.
How will you deal with my personal information?
We will treat the information you give us in the strictest confidence under the EU General Data Protection Regulation 2018 and GDPR. You can find out more about our credentials and who we are here and how we protect your personal information here.
