Making Teaching and Learning Visible
Published: February 2015
We are independently evaluating the development stage of The Visible Classroom.
This project uses ‘real time capture’ – a method which records what the teacher is saying, and turns it into a script.
This script can then be used as either a development tool for teachers, or to help pupils in the classroom recap on key points in the lesson.
Our role in this project was to collect the data and we won't be producing a publication. A report is available on the EEF website.
As we are currently at the beginning of a development stage, we are speaking to a number of teachers in participating schools on a regular basis to find out how The Visible Classroom is working for them. We are going into schools to talk to teachers and observe lessons, as well as catching-up with teachers via the phone.
