About NatCen Learning

We’re committed to research excellence

NatCen Learning is the leading provider of high-quality research courses, seminars and workshops. We deliver practical insights to the wider research and policy community and it’s our mission to boost the quality of social research in the UK. We deliver open courses working with our partner the Social Research Association (SRA), the professional membership body for the social research industry. We also offer bespoke training.

Our training helps those new to research, as well as established researchers

Our trainers deliver an annual programme of workshops in partnership with the SRA covering key research skills and techniques. We’ve developed a range of courses that are tailored to every level of experience, whether you are an experienced researcher wanting to develop your existing skills, or you are completely new to research.

We also design bespoke workshops and tailored training, working closely with clients to develop the best development opportunities for them and their teams. 

Our clients include universities, government departments, the public and voluntary sectors both in the UK and abroad.

This means we’re able to share our experiences of applying theories and methodologies to real life research projects, and all of our trainers are up to date with the latest developments in research.

We’re committed to sharing best practice and partner with other research leaders to provide excellent training and capacity building opportunities.

Recent projects include our network of international researchers using social media in their research projects, initially funded by the National Centre of Research Methods. This network involves a series of face-to-face and online activities which help researchers from across different disciplines and research sectors to share their experiences in this quickly evolving field of methodology.
