Research Director (Maternity Cover)
Salary: £40k - £50k (Depending on skills & experience)
Department: Survey Research Centre
Application deadline: 27 August 2018
We are recruiting an exceptional research professional to join the Longitudinal Surveys team in our Survey Research Centre. This post will be a one year fixed term contract.
This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a thriving team undertaking Britain’s best known longitudinal and cohort surveys. In particular, this role is to lead one of our flagship surveys: the English Longitudinal Survey of Ageing (ELSA). ELSA is in its ninth wave and you will be central to its delivery and the promotion of its rich data. In addition, you will lead thinking on the future development of the study, working alongside our collaborators at UCL, IFS and the University of Manchester.
Excellent research skills are essential, in particular survey design using quantitative research methods. You will be able to demonstrate a proven track record in delivering quantitative research projects to time and budget, and of developing strong relationships with customers/funders and partners. Experience of managing longitudinal surveys will be an advantage but is not essential.
You will be enthusiastic about business generation at NatCen, able to identify new business opportunities and lead on writing tenders and grant applications.
We are open to flexible working and welcome part-time applications.
