Rakhee joined the Children, Families and Work team in March 2015. She has ten years’ experience of applied policy research gained in the academic and private sector. She has managed evaluations and research studies for the European Commission, UK, regional and local government departments, and third sector organisations. Her work has focused on many aspects of education and skills policy including early years, further education, youth transitions and workforce issues. She has also carried out research into health and homelessness policy.
Recent studies that Rakhee has managed include: a formative process evaluation of the national youth engagement and progression framework in Wales; an evaluation of Reach the Heights, a £20 million European Social Fund project to support young people aged 11-19 in Wales at risk of disengaging; and an evaluation of a child poverty innovation pilot in Waltham Forest.
Rakhee is a mixed methods researcher, with particular expertise in qualitative research methods. She has a MSc in Educational Research Methods.
