Jo Taylor is the National Nurse Field Manager. She manages the panel of freelance nurses and interviewers working on the projects that gather bio-physical data. Jo provides clinical nurse leadership, enabling and supporting the panel to capture high quality data from bio-physical measures.
Jo started working for NatCen in 2001 as a Survey Nurse and quickly became a supervisor of nurses. Jo also worked during 2010 – 2012, as the in-house Nurse Advisor, providing nurse guidance for the panel, the research teams and operations staff during fieldwork. Jo was able to help NatCen gain experience in enabling non nurse interviewers to be trained, to undertake specific bio-physical data measures, for example taking accurate Blood Pressure readings, and taking blood samples via finger prick techniques for validation and quality assessment purposes. These ‘IBio’ interviewers still work on the Scottish Health Survey. Jo still works as a Survey Nurse too.
